Active Addresses
Number of unique addresses that sent or received a transaction in the last 24h.
Active addresses measure real network usage. Not user count (one person can have many addresses) nor wallets with balance (those are static), but how many wallets actually transacted today. Rising count with stable price is a healthy signal. Falling activity with rising price is a warning: price driven by speculation, not adoption.
In plain words
Number of wallets that actually made a transaction today: buy, sell or transfer. Different from holder count, someone may own BTC for years without moving it. Rising count with flat price is a healthy signal: people use the network, not just speculate on it.
Example
Bitcoin Jan 2024: price 42k, active 950k/day = real adoption. Dec 2017: price 19k, active falling 1.1M→700k = speculative top signal. -50% correction came a month later.
