MA Cross (Moving Average Cross)

Signal from crossing of two moving averages of different lengths.

MA Cross: SMA (simple), EMA (exponential). Common: MA50, MA100, MA200. MA50 above MA200 = uptrend. Crosses signal trend change (Golden/Death Cross). Price above MA200 = structural bull.

In plain words

A moving average is just the averaged price of the last N days: it smooths out noise. MA50 reacts fast, MA200 slowly. When they cross, they're telling you the trend is flipping: MA50 above MA200 = bull, MA50 below MA200 = bear.

Example

BTC Feb 2023: Golden Cross at 23k → 73k peak year later. BTC Jan 2022: Death Cross at 35k → 15.5k bottom. Lagging but confirms regime.
