Vol/MCap (Volume to Market Cap)

The ratio of 24h trading volume to market cap: a measure of liquidity and trading intensity.

Vol/MCap is the last 24 hours of trading volume divided by market cap, expressed as a percentage. It shows what share of a project's value changes hands in a day, how lively and liquid the coin's market is. A healthy range for large, mature assets is usually a few to a dozen-or-so percent. A very low ratio (below ~1%) signals poor liquidity, hard to enter or exit without slippage. A very high one (e.g. tens to hundreds of percent on a small coin) can indicate speculation or artificially inflated volume (wash trading). Read it together with market cap, FDV and market depth, not as a standalone number.

In plain words

Tells you how much a coin is traded relative to its size. Too low = hard to buy and sell without moving the price. Too high on a small project = a red flag, possible speculation.

Example

A 1B USD market cap with 50M USD of 24h volume gives a 5% Vol/MCap. This indicates lively, liquid trading. The same volume on a 50M cap (100% Vol/MCap) is a warning sign.
