Community (Score)
What it shows
The community score measures the size and activity of a project's community, that is followers, discussions and channel engagement.
How to read it
Community strength is a fundamental indicator, especially useful for smaller projects. Read the engagement trend, not the raw follower count, and combine it with developer activity.
Parameters
- Community strength & activity
- A large, active community supports a project's durability; a fading one signals waning interest.
- Positive reading: A growing, engaged community is a healthy project foundation.
- Negative reading: A shrinking or passive community is a risk of weakening fundamentals.
- Neutral reading: A stable community is a maintained level of engagement.
Example
A rising community score (followers, watchlists, engagement) is a broader, active base that historically supported a project's durability. A shrinking community is fading interest; a stable score is a neutral backdrop.
