Methodology: how CryptoPulsar AI indicators and models work
Every widget and model in CryptoPulsar AI comes with a method description, the same one the "?" button opens next to the data in the app. This page collects them in one place, grouped by module.
The descriptions explain how values are computed and how to interpret them. They do not contain current readings: those live in the app, next to the data, with the time of the last update.
Market cycle
- Cycle score: A detailed table breaking the total cycle score down into individual indicators, grouped into three sections: short term, medium term and long term.
- Cycle Score (CryptoPulsar): A comprehensive picture of where the selected cryptocurrency sits in the market cycle.
- MVRV Ratio: MVRV (Z-Score) compares market value with realized value (the network's average acquisition price). It shows whether holders are collectively deep in profit or in loss.
- NVT Ratio: NVT (Network Value to Transactions) compares the network's market value with the transaction value it actually processes: this is a blockchain equivalent of the price/earnings ratio.
- RSI (Relative Strength Index): RSI (Relative Strength Index, 14) is a momentum oscillator on a 0–100 scale that measures how fast and how strongly price has risen or fallen over the recent period.
- MACD: MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) shows trend momentum via the difference between two moving averages plus a histogram. It tells whether an uptrend is strengthening or fading.
- MA Cross (Moving Average Cross): A long moving-average cross (e.g. 50/200) shows the structural trend direction: a golden cross (bullish) or death cross (bearish).
- Funding Rate: The funding rate is the periodic fee between longs and shorts on perpetual futures. It shows which leveraged side pays the other, i.e. where the crowding is.
- Fear & Greed Index: The Fear & Greed Index aggregates market sentiment into a single 0–100 number: from extreme fear to extreme greed.
- BTC Dominance: The percentage share of Bitcoin, Ethereum and the remaining alts in total market cap, shown as an area chart. It tells where capital concentrates and whether BTC or alts lead the market.
- Halving (Bitcoin): Halving is the cyclical (roughly every 4 years) halving of Bitcoin's miner reward. It sets the rhythm of supply and has historically shaped the entire market-cycle structure.
- ATH (All-Time High): Distance from ATH shows how far the current price is from the all-time high; it is a measure of how far the asset is "discounted" from its record.
- Active Addresses: Active addresses count how many unique wallets actually transacted in the last 24 hours: a measure of real network usage.
- Exchange Supply %: Exchange supply shows how large a share of coins sits in exchange wallets: i.e. how much potential sell-side supply is at hand.
AI analyses
- AI analysis of a coin: A synthetic project assessment generated by CryptoPulsar algorithms: a potential and risk score (0–10), a concise summary, and lists of pros and cons. A condensed view of strengths and weaknesses in one place.
- Advanced AI Forecasts with Scenarios: Multi-scenario price forecasts generated by CryptoPulsar proprietary algorithms.
- Social sentiment: The project's social and developer reach: Twitter/X followers and posts, Reddit subscribers and activity, GitHub stars and forks, plus a combined social score. Measures attention and engagement around the project.

Derivatives
- Live Liquidations: Forced position closures (liquidations) from the futures market: a real-time stream from Binance Futures (the !forceOrder channel via our relay server), with OKX and Bybit data added on a periodic refresh.
- Liquidation Cascades: A rolled-up view of liquidations across the futures market (Binance Futures, OKX and Bybit): how much capital was force-closed in the last hour, in four hours and in a day, how it splits between longs and shorts, and whether the last hour clearly stands out from a typical hour of the day.

- Long/short ratio chart: The Long/Short ratio history (pink line, left axis) for the selected coin over a 4 h–7 d window, optionally overlaid with price (blue dashed line, right axis). The gold dashed line marks 1.0: long/short balance.
- Advanced Indicators (Funding Rate, Open Interest, futures sentiment): Professional indicators from the derivatives market show not the price itself but the positioning and bias of leveraged traders. A window into where the crowd placed its money and how leveraged it is.
- Options Market: Current state and history of the options market for major cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH).
