Global Stats
What it shows
The health of the entire crypto market in one place: how much capital is at play, how intense the trading is, and who dominates (Bitcoin vs Ethereum vs the rest). A first glance at whether the market is rising, flat or bleeding out.
How to read it
Read three things together: the direction of market cap, whether volume confirms it, and how dominance is distributed. Rising cap + high volume + falling BTC dominance = a broad bull market favoring alts. Falling cap + rising BTC dominance = a flight to safety. Action: during a flight to BTC, trim alt risk; during a BTC→alts rotation, watch the stronger projects.
Parameters
- Market Cap
- Total value of all cryptocurrencies (price × circulating supply).
- Positive reading: Rising together with volume, which means real fresh capital inflow.
- Negative reading: Falling sharply. Capital is leaving the market, weakening interest.
- Neutral reading: Flat: consolidation, the market waits for a catalyst.
- 24h Volume
- How much money flowed through exchanges (buying + selling) in the last 24h.
- Positive reading: High alongside a price move: the move has strength and confirmation.
- Negative reading: Price rising on low volume, which means a weak, suspicious move prone to reversal.
- Neutral reading: Low and steady: the market is asleep, no emotion.
- BTC Dominance
- What percentage of the entire market is Bitcoin alone.
- Positive reading: Rising during uncertainty, so capital hides in BTC (good for BTC).
- Negative reading: Rising fast, which means altcoins lose ground versus BTC (worse for alts).
- Neutral reading: Slowly falling, so capital rotates into altcoins (possible altseason).
- ETH Dominance
- Ethereum's share of the whole market: a barometer of altcoin strength.
- Positive reading: Rising, so capital enters the alt ecosystem, often a prelude to altseason.
- Negative reading: Falling while BTC dominance rises, which means alts weaken broadly.
- Neutral reading: Stable: no clear rotation between BTC and alts.
- Active Cryptocurrencies
- How many different coins are listed and traded.
- Neutral reading: A market-size indicator (not a buy/sell signal on its own).
- Exchanges
- Number of active cryptocurrency exchanges.
- Neutral reading: Market infrastructure context: informational, not a basis for decisions.
Example
Market cap +3%, volume clearly higher than yesterday, BTC dominance dropping 54%→52%, which means a healthy, broad rise with capital rotating into altcoins. Conversely: cap -4% with BTC dominance climbing to 56% is a classic risk-off move.
