Live Ticker (real-time prices)
What it shows
A ticker of prices and 24h changes for key coins, updated live via WebSocket (with a 10s REST fallback). It gives an instant view of what is rising and falling in real time.
How to read it
Use the ticker for a fast sentiment scan and to catch sudden moves, not as a basis for decisions. A single 24h change is little context. Watch the „live” status to know how fresh the data is. Practical takeaway: when many coins flip color at once, it signals a broad market move worth confirming with other widgets.
Parameters
- Live price
- The coin's current price, streamed live through the WebSocket relay.
- Neutral reading: A green „live” dot means a fresh stream; a timestamp means REST-fallback data.
- 24h change
- Percentage price change over the last 24h (green up / red down).
- Positive reading: Positive: a short-term bullish edge for that coin.
- Negative reading: Negative: a short-term bearish edge.
- Neutral reading: Near zero: no clear direction over the day.
- Connection status
- A pulsing indicator and „live” dot show whether the data stream is active.
- Neutral reading: No „live” means slower fallback data, not an error.
Example
Almost every coin on the ticker turns red within minutes while the „live” dot is active. This is a fast, broad move down worth confirming in global stats. A single coin at +8% while the rest is flat is an isolated, project-specific move.
