Spot ETF

What it shows

ETF flows show how much institutional capital is entering or leaving spot ETFs, which is a direct gauge of large-player demand.

How to read it

ETF flows are a window into institutional behavior. Read the multi-day trend, not a single day. Persistent inflows have historically supported BTC uptrends.

Parameters

Spot ETF flows (net)
Net inflows = institutional demand; net outflows = institutional capital withdrawing.
Positive reading: Sustained net inflows: historically strong institutional demand supporting the market.
Negative reading: Sustained net outflows: historically institutions retreating and weakening demand.
Neutral reading: Flows near zero: a balance between inflows and outflows.

Example

Spot ETFs post several consecutive days of positive net inflows: institutional demand is rising, which historically supported the demand side. Persistent outflows are historically a fading institutional appetite; flows near zero are a neutral truce.
