Trending Score

What it shows

The trending score (Trending on CoinGecko) measures how strongly a coin draws attention: searches and positions on popularity lists.

How to read it

Crowd attention is a context signal: a sudden popularity peak often accompanied local tops, while interest building from a low level indicates early trend phases. Combine with on-chain data and price momentum.

Parameters

Attention / popularity level
Measures retail interest: how many people search for and watch the coin.
Positive reading: Rising attention from a low base: historically an early interest-building phase.
Negative reading: A parabolic popularity spike: historically a late, euphoric phase of a move.
Neutral reading: Stable, moderate attention: no extremes on the interest side.

Example

The coin jumps into CoinGecko's top trending on a rising price, which is historically a retail attention spike that sometimes fueled the move but also preceded local tops. Absence from trending means neutral, low search interest.
