Crypto Heatmap

What it shows

A heat map of the entire market as a treemap. Each tile's size reflects the project's market cap, and its color reflects the price change over the selected period (green = up, red = down). One glance shows whether the market is broadly green or red, and which large projects are driving the move.

How to read it

Start with the overall color: a sea of green is broad risk-on, a sea of red is broad risk-off. Then look at the large tiles, as they (BTC, ETH) decide the whole market's direction. Switch the period to tell a momentary impulse from a more durable trend. Practical takeaway: when the large tiles are green but the small ones red, the rise is driven mainly by the leaders, which means market breadth is weak, which has historically meant a less healthy move.

Parameters

Tile size (market cap)
The bigger the tile, the higher the project's market cap.
Neutral reading: Shows the project's weight in the market: large tiles influence the whole market most.
Color (price change)
The shade depends on the price change over the selected period (1h / 24h / 7d / 30d).
Positive reading: Deep green: a strong price gain over the selected period.
Negative reading: Deep red: a strong price drop over the selected period.
Neutral reading: Pale shades or gray: a small price change.
Dominance
The project's percentage share of the combined market cap of all displayed tiles.
Neutral reading: Helps gauge how much the largest projects outweigh the rest; informational.
Up/down counter
The count of green tiles versus red: market breadth at a glance.
Positive reading: A clear majority green: a broad rise covering most of the market.
Negative reading: A clear majority red: a broad sell-off covering most of the market.
Neutral reading: Roughly even: a mixed market with no clear direction.
Period & count filter (1h–30d, Top 20/50)
Switches the price-change period and the number of projects shown.
Neutral reading: A short window (1h) shows the impulse, longer ones (7d/30d) the broader trend; informational.

Example

In the 24h window the counter reads 42 green to 8 red and the large BTC and ETH tiles are deep green, which means a broad, healthy rise covering most of the market. Conversely, 45 red to 5 green with a deeply red BTC tile is a broad sell-off led by the market leader.
