DEX volume breakdown
What it shows
Decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume over the last 24h, broken down by protocol (Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Curve and others). It shows total turnover, the number of trades and each DEX share.
How to read it
Read volume together with the trade count and the protocol split: rising turnover with a broad DEX spread signals healthy, liquid activity. Mind the context (when viewing an altcoin, the ETH data is macro background for the whole DeFi ecosystem). Practical takeaway: a sustained rise in volume and trade count confirms real interest in on-chain trading.
Parameters
- Total DEX volume 24h
- Total USD value of all DEX trades over the last 24 hours.
- Positive reading: High and rising: lively on-chain activity and deep liquidity.
- Negative reading: Clearly falling: cooling DEX activity and thinner liquidity.
- Neutral reading: Stable: a typical turnover level with no clear trend.
- Trades count
- The number of individual DEX trades in the analyzed window.
- Neutral reading: Many small trades suggest broad retail activity; few large ones point to bigger-capital players.
- Breakdown by protocol
- Each DEX percentage share (Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Curveā¦) of total volume.
- Neutral reading: Heavy concentration in one protocol shows where capital flows; an even spread reflects healthy competition.
Example
Total 24h DEX volume is $2.4B across 1.1M trades, with Uniswap v3 accounting for 58%, which means capital concentrates on the largest protocol. A 40% weekly volume drop with fewer trades would signal cooling DeFi activity.
